2000 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Ignition Control Module on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: Service of the Ignition Control Module begins by shutting down the ignition system while separating the icm's 14-way connector. The first step involves marking coil assembly wire positions before removing sparks plugs from their coil assemblies. The service requires removing 6 screws that attach coil assemblies and an icm, followed by coil and icm extraction which will separate the coil from the icm. For installation position the icm on the module bracket with coils attached to the Ignition Control Module. Be sure to follow fastener notice in service precautions throughout. Screw back six ignition coil attaching screws following torque specifications at 5 nm (40 lb in). Reinstall Spark Plug Wires while connecting the 14-way connector to the icm.
