How to service the Throttle Position Sensor on 2000 Buick LeSabre?

A technician should begin service of the Throttle Position Sensor by removing the fuel injector sight shield followed by disconnecting the electrical connector from the throttle position (TP) sensor. Remove the Throttle Body sensor by disconnecting its 2 securing screws before you can extract the sensor device. The normal closed throttle position must be selected before installing the tp sensor in the Throttle Body assembly. Install screws with loctite 262(R) gm part no.1052624 thread-locking compound equivalent and tighten them to 2 nm (18 lb in) when securing the 2 tp sensor attaching screws. After installing the fuel injector sight shield users should connect the electrical connector to the tp sensor.
