The first requirement when replacing the Oxygen Sensor wiring harness heat shield is lifting the vehicle and supporting it securely. Drill out the rivets from the heat shield before lowering it to disconnect the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) clips. The heat shield can be taken out after you detach the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) clips. During installation elevate the heat shield to connect ho2s clips and put it into position against the floor panel before using a rivet gun for assembly then lower the vehicle. When drilling rivets it is essential for all workers to use protective eyewear in order to prevent accidents.
