Then, remove the Camshaft caps, camshafts, valve rocker arms, and valve lash adjusters without losing track of their position for reassembly. Before installing lubricate and fill the valve lash adjusters with the engine oil. Make sure to lubricate the valve Rocker Arm roller and replace the valve rocker arms into their previous location; apply a coat of engine oil on the Camshaft journals and insert the camshafts. Replace the original Camshaft caps back onto the original journals and tighten the Camshaft cap bolts to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). Gently reinstall the Camshaft sprockets to the camshafts and take the Camshaft sprocket holding tool (J 44222) off. Mount the intake Camshaft sprocket washer and bolt, then the exhaust Camshaft actuator bolt, and tighten the intake Camshaft sprocket bolt to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.), followed by 100 degrees with the torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Torque the exhaust Camshaft actuator bolt, 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) on the first pass, then additional 135 degrees on the final pass with the torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Finally, install the Camshaft cover.
