    A: Begin by opening the tailgate in drop mode before proceeding with the latch on the tailgate right upper replacement. The tailgate latch bracket assembly bolts need removal before you can remove the latch bracket assembly itself. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the latch assembly before using a screwdriver to remove the latch assembly screws from the bracket. After this, pull the latch assembly off the bracket. Assembling the latch requires attachment to the latch bracket with careful attention to the documented Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Use screws to mount the latch assembly onto the bracket at settings of 12 N.m (106 lb in). Your next step is to return the electrical connector to the latch assembly followed by reinstating the latch bracket assembly to the tailgate. Secure the latch assembly bracket to the tailgate using bolts while tightening the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
