How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on Buick Rainier?

Begin by disconnecting the harness connector then remove the bolt holding the vehicle speed sensor . Afterwards extract the sensor and take out the O-ring seal with it. Before you install the vehicle speed sensor put its O-ring seal in position on top of the sensor surface. After coating the O-ring seal with a thin film of transmission fluid install the sensor back into the transmission. Use the bolt to install the VSS properly by fixing the bolt at 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.) torque and link the wiring connector to the sensor. Complete the process by putting new fluid inside.
