  A: Begin Idle Control Valve replacement by disassembling the Throttle Body through removing the throttle control cable bracket and canister purge valve. Unplug the Idle Control Valve electrical connector while removing the Idle Control Valve screws to extract the unit and its o-ring from the opening. The first step for new valve installation involves compressing the pintle to a position less than 28mm (1-1/8 inch) from the motor housing. Install a new Idle Control Valve o-ring before you place the Idle Control Valve inside the Throttle Body. After this secure the attaching screws at 3.0 n.m (27 lb in). The Idle Control Valve electrical connector should be reconnected first before installing the canister purge valve and throttle control cable bracket. The Idle Control Valve must be reset through this procedure: turn on the ignition then turn it off while starting the engine which must reach its operational temperature.
