How to replace the Front Seat Recliner Seat Motor on Buick LeSabre?

Disabling the SIR system must occur before attempting to change the front seat recliner actuator motor. Start by removing the front seat before taking away the inner seat adjuster track cover along with the inner recliner trim cover. The seat back pad should be partially detached along with its cover to reach the power recliner motor while the cardboard backing of the rear seat back should also be lifted away. Record the wiring harness pathway since this information will help during reinstallation while preventing damage to the components. When replacing the power recliner motor it is necessary to disconnect both the motor and any recliner position sensor electrical connectors. The technician needs to eliminate the push-on nut at the end of the recliner rod and the fastener joining the power recliner motor to the seat back frame. Bare the recliner rod by sliding it both out of the seat back recliner and the power recliner motor followed by removing the power recliner motor together with the recliner position sensor if installed. Begin setup by fastening the recliner position sensor to the recliner motor when the motor is equipped before setting the power recliner motor inside the seat back frame. Position the recliner rod inside the power seat back recliner motor and recliner assembly while you tighten it with a new push-on nut at the rod end. You must install and fasten the power recliner motor with a torque of 9 N.m (80 lb in). The wiring harness must be installed to its original placement while connecting the electrical connector to the power recliner motor and recliner position sensor if equipped before installing the inner recliner trim cover together with the inner seat adjuster track cover and cardboard backer along with the seat back cover and pad. To complete the process reinstall the front seat and activate the SIR system.
