Disconniecting the heater hoses from the Heater Core, removing the Thermostat and the Thermostat housing bolts are the factors that help in using the engine coolant Thermostat housing (LY7). Subsequently, remove the Thermostat housing, heater pipes, hoses, and bolts, and clear the sealing faces with help of a plastic gasket scraper (J 28410 or its kind). For the assembly, install the heater pipes and hoses to the Thermostat housing, and install a new gasket onto the Thermostat housing. Partially install the Thermostat housing bolts to hold the gasket before inserting the Thermostat housing with the heater pipes, hoses, gasket, and bolts. Make sure to finger tighten the Thermostat housing bolts to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) and then install the Thermostat. Lastly, reconnect heater hoses with the heater cores.
