  A: The replacement of front side door check links must begin by disabling the SIR system when the vehicle includes SIR side impact system equipment. After removing the front door trim panel you should remove the front door water deflector. Remove the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if it exists. The assembly procedure begins by discarding the links from the front door check to pillar bolt and nut before removing them from the front door check to inner door bolts to finish with disconnecting the front door check link from the door. To install the front door check link begins with attaching it to the door before you secure both inner door bolts and tighten the front door to check link bolt to 5 Nm (45 lb in). Secure both ends of the front door check link to pillar nut and bolt while torqueing them to 5 Nm (45 lb in). You should reattach the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate before inserting the front door water deflector followed by the front door trim panel. Users should enable their SIR system only when their vehicle has the SIR side impact system.
