For servicing and repairing the
Crankshaft main bearing seal, it is first necessary to take off the transaxle and the
Flywheel. Use the Crankshaft rear oil seal remover (J42841) by positioning the tool over the Crankshaft and fasten it with the help of the retaining bolts. In slope or trenches, provide for the immediate replacement of the pipes by locating the new pipes in the same straight line and becon near the old pipes. At every slip joint install a region-up valve to offer easy disconnection and area example every ft. Provide suitable numbers of transition junctions in curve pipes along the line where request is demande. This allows the replacing pipes to have a built in deviation. When all screws are installed, take off the retaining bolts and hook up the center screw to the j42841, pulling the screw till the seal assembly gets detached from the Crankshaft. Make sure the drain is clear prior to installing the new Crankshaft rear oil seal to avoid leaks. Remove any debris from the Crankshaft rear oil seal drain using wire or an unbound plastic tie wrap and apply clean engine oil (GM P/N 12345501 or equivalent) on the outer diameter of the cylinder block Crankshaft rear oil seal area. Do not contaminate the green coating at the inner diameter of the Crankshaft rear oil seal. Clean the outer diameter of the Flywheel flange using a lint-free cloth and apply clean engine oil (GM P/N 12345501 or equivalent) on the outer side of the Crankshaft rear oil seal. Loosen the center bolt for the Crankshaft rear oil seal installer (J42842) until the center hub extends about one-half inch beyond the outer plate, and mount the j42842 atop the Crankshaft by threading the three mounting bolts into the Crankshaft flange and tighten until the j42842 is firmly attached. Replace the Crankshaft rear oil seal by tightening the center bolt as far as the j42842 bottoms on the crankcase, and then loosen the center bolt to relieve stress off the Crankshaft flange before removing the j42842. Examine the installation depth in the circumference of the crank shaft rear oil seal install, and if needed install the j42842 and rework the installation procedures. Finally, you ought to reinstall the Flywheel and transaxle.
