How to replace the exhaust hangers on Cadillac DeVille?

Start by raising the car then supporting it for replacement of exhaust hangers. You must unfasten the bolt which joins the center exhaust hanger to the rear suspension support bracket. Use a suitable lubricating agent on the exhaust pipe hanger rod before removing the hanger by pulling it away from the rod at its center. Following the removal of the rear exhaust hanger nut connected to the hanger bracket use lubricant on the tail pipe hanger rod before extracting the rear exhaust hanger from the rod. The installation process starts with applying soapy solution to the tail pipe hanger rod and rear exhaust hanger inner diameter before you put the rear exhaust hanger onto the tail pipe hanger rod for positioning at the rear exhaust hanger bracket. Install and torque the rear exhaust hanger nut on the rear exhaust hanger bracket at 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Start by applying the soapy solution to the exhaust pipe hanger rod and the inner diameter of the center exhaust hanger. Then insert the center part into the exhaust pipe hanger rod before fastening the rear suspension support bracket using a bolt set to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Lower the vehicle afterward.
