Cadillac Eldorado Tie Rod End Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the outer tie rod end on Cadillac Eldorado?
A: The first step to replace the outer Tie Rod End requires vehicle support through a lift combined with tire and wheel detachment. The first step requires users to loosen the jam nut of the inner tie rod assembly before removing the lock nut from the outer Tie Rod End. The steering linkage and tie rod puller (J24319-B) needs installation to the Steering Knuckle before using the Tie Rod End puller (J24319-8) to detach the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle. Pull out the outer tie rod section from its position on the inner tie rod . Install the outer tie rod to the inner tie rod without any torque on the jam nut and connect the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle. Fasten the outer tie rod retaining nut while torquing it to 75 nm (55 ft. Lbs.). After correct toe setting the Rack and Pinion Boot should be free of any twists or puckers before you install the wheel and tire and lower the vehicle for toe alignment adjustments.
