The first step of replacing engine oil pressure sensor and switch entails taking off the Intake Manifold. The first step is to disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor. Vehicle owners should use the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712) for removing the oil pressure sensor (706) and washer (707) from vehicles that lack active fuel management. The vehicle's active fuel management system requires the same removal procedure to be carried out using the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712). Use sealant to treat the threads of the new oil pressure sensor before installing it. The installation of the oil pressure sensor (706) and washer (707) should be done with the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712) which requires a torque of 35 n.m (26 lb ft) for proper tightening. Instal the oil pressure sensor (706) and washer (707) using the same socket (J 41712) and complete installation using the exact torque specifications. Reinstall the Intake Manifold after you reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor.
