The replacement of parking brake shoes begins with removal of the Wheel Bearing and hub assembly. Adjustment of the parking brake adjusting nut should continue until all remaining adjustment has been removed. First detach the Parking Brake Shoe retaining spring before removing the assembly by spread the shoe lightly while pulling it from the actuator assembly. The first step for installation involves putting the park brake shoe assembly in position while spreading it slightly for pulling over the actuator assembly and finally installing the Parking Brake Shoe retaining spring . Place the Wheel Bearing and hub assembly over the hub but first step through an adjustment of the Parking Brake Shoe-to-drum clearance before lowering the vehicle.
