How to replace the Distance Sensing Cruise Control Module on Cadillac XLR?

When replacing the distance sensing Cruise Control Module begin by removing both the hood and left front air cleaner assembly section. Obtain the electrical connector from the cruise control (DSCC) module and remove the fascia-mounted dscc module cover. The three bolts which secure the dscc module to its bracket must be removed. The dscc module installation requires positioning first on the bracket followed by manual bolt tightening to 10 n.m (7 lb ft). Reconnect the electrical connector to the dscc module before installing both the dscc module cover onto the fascia and the left front section of the air cleaner assembly followed by hood closure. The new dscc module requires a scan tool update to not aligned status in the dscc module scan tool data list to auto-align to the vehicle as a replacement. When replacing a dscc module normal driving will automatically restore acc system performance although there might be a temporary loss of function post-replacement.
