How to Replace the Right Side Fuel Level Sensor on Cadillac XLR?

The first step to replace the right side Fuel Level Sensor involves removing both the Fuel Tank module from the Fuel Tank and extracting its Fuel Tank module o-ring from the Fuel Tank opening. You must depress the locking tab to detach the Fuel Level Sensor from the Fuel Tank module while observing where its wires should go before taking them off of the connector. The installation procedure requires correct wire placement at the internal connector before-inserting the Fuel Level Sensor into the Fuel Tank module until it clicks into position and validating that wires sit in the slots beneath the sensor. The Fuel Tank opening requires a new Fuel Tank module o-ring before reinstalling the Fuel Tank module onto the Fuel Tank. A digital multimeter should be used to check Fuel Tank module resistance during installation by inverting the Fuel Tank while measuring for 40 ohms when empty and 250 ohms when full. To finish the installation connect the Fuel Tank pressure (FTP) sensor harness connector and evaporative emission (EVAP) purge line to the fuel pump module followed by the fuel pump module harness connector before installing the right Fuel Tank.
