  Q: How to replace the Ignition Switch and start switch on Cadillac XLR?

  A: Start by disconnecting the car's negative Battery Cable before commencing replacement of the ignition along with start switch. Begin by taking out the driver knee bolster trim panel alongside the driver information center (DIC) switch. Following the removal of the negative Battery Cable disconnect the Ignition Switch electrical connector then carefully remove the Ignition Switch from the dic pod. Before installation insert the Ignition Switch into the dic pod then connect all electrical wires. Install the dic switch pod while also reinstalling the driver knee bolster trim panel. Attach the negative Battery Cable while tightening the cable bolt up to 15 n.m (11 lb ft).
