The Pitman Arm separation requires the Pitman Arm puller (J 29107-A) tool alongside an inspection of damaged ball stud threads along with degrading seals on the ball stud. Wipe away debris from the ball stud threads as well as its accompanying ball stud nut threads. The installation of the Pitman Arm requires the marks made on it during removal for correct alignment with the pitman shaft. Put the washer onto the Pitman Arm followed by the retaining nut and torque it to 250 newton meters (185 foot lbs) before replacing the power steering gear below the vehicle.
