Slipping off your vehicle's negative Battery Cable stands as the starting point for air bag clock spring assembly / spiral cable replacement or removal procedures. Then, remove the Steering Wheel. The next step demands removal of screws from both upper and lower steering column covers to extract the covers. To proceed you must take away the driver side knee bolster and instrument panel lower cover. Cut the driver air bag and horn connectors from the lower steering column before removal of screws which will be discarded afterward. The installation of a new air bag clock spring begins with steering shaft removal. Installation requires fitting the new air bag clock spring onto the steering shaft before installing new screws that should be tightened to 1.25 nm (11 lb in). Before reattaching the driver air bag and horn connectors you must double-check the air bag clock spring is situated in its center location at the lower steering column. After replacing the driver knee bolster first you must install the instrument panel lower cover followed by steering column covers and their attaching screws. Add the Steering Wheel back to its place before finishing installation with negative Battery Cable reconnection.
