Chevrolet Blazer Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on Chevrolet Blazer?
A: The first step to replace the camshaft position (CMP) sensor involves disconnecting the Spark Plug Wires together with the ignition coil wire from the Distributor followed by removing the cmp sensor harness connector from the Distributor. Begin by unscrewing the Distributor Cap screws then removing the Distributor Cap before moving on to unfasten the rotor screws along with the rotor. The square slot of the reluctor wheel needs to be aligned with the cmp sensor before removing the cmp screws and the cmp sensor. Use fresh components with a thread locking compound when reinstalling the system because the old screws and cap along with cmp sensor must be replaced. The cmp sensor must pass through the reluctor wheel slot before installing fresh cmp mounting screws while tightening them to 2.2 n.m (19 lb in). The next step involves putting the rotor onto the reluctor wheel before using new rotor screws to fasten it while tightening them to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Secure both Distributor caps with new handling screws which must be tightened to 2.4 n.m (21 lb in). Attach the cmp sensor harness connector while also reattaching all Spark Plug Wires and the ignition coil wire.
