Start by lifting your vehicle and putting it on support equipment before you remove both wheel and tire for every 4wd or 2wd vehicle model when replacing the Wheel Speed Sensor. You need to remove the brake rotor that applies to 1500 series models. Disconnect the wss cable mounting clips from the knuckle, upper
Control Arm, frame mounting points, wss cable electric connector and wss bolt attachment point. Once mounted on the 2500/3500 series the wss needs to be withdrawn directly from its hub and bearing setup without applying force that will harm the sensor. Use the wss bore plug to shield the mounting space then brush the hub mounting area clean before applying thin gm p/n 01051344 lubricant to both hub and sensor o-ring surface. Simply set the wss properly in line with the hub while making sure it lays flat. Next attach the mounting bolt and tighten it at 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs). Put back the wss cable mounting clips on their original places at the knuckle, upper Control Arm, and frame bracket while joining the wss cable's electrical connection. After completing these actions replace the specific brake rotor for 1500 engines and install the tire wheel assembly before doing the required diagnostics.
