    How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor in a vehicle on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer

    Before working on the Vehicle Speed Sensor, you should raise the vehicle. After that, disconnect the wiring harness connector and remove the bolt holding the speed sensor to the transmission and take out the speed sensor. Should the 0-ring seal be connected to the speed sensor, please take it off. Before installation, lubricate the seal with GM P/N 12346143 transmission fluid and put it and the sensor in their proper location. Secure the bolt to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.) and next link the wiring harness connector back up. In addition, check the transmission fluid for any obvious issues.

    Start by raising the vehicle to access the Vehicle Speed Sensor of an nv-4500 manual transmission. Pull off the electrical connector then take out the speed sensor from its position in the transmission. Prepare the new 0-ring seal with a small amount of transmission fluid before installing on the transmission using castrol syntorq gl-4 transmission fluid gm p/n 12346190 or an equivalent product. Clamp the speed sensor to the transmission with 22 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) torque. Connect the electrical cable to the speed sensor then put down the vehicle.
