The Rack And Pinion gear assembly requires removal of the Rack and Pinion Boot. When reassembling the vehicle place the new boot clamp onto the Rack and Pinion Boot and apply grease to both the inner tie rod assembly and the Rack And Pinion gear assembly before mounting the new Rack and Pinion Boot onto the inner tie rod assembly . Check that the Rack and Pinion Boot remains free of puckers and twisting; if needed readjust it by hand before seating it into the gear assembly groove.
