How to Properly Align and Install a Trunk Lock Cylinder on Chevrolet Camaro?

Firstly, open the window panel before replacing the lift gate lock cylinder. When removing the rear end finish panel for Chevrolet and the taillamp filler for Pontiac just pull the panel off. Then, unbolt the four rivets and pull out the lock cylinder. When putting in the new lock cylinder, the tan dot should be facing upward. Guide the lock cylinder shaft through the hole in the rear end panel up to the hole in the lock support and align the lock cylinder. Install the left rivet followed by the right rivet . For Pontiac vehicles, reinstall the tail lamp filler while for Chevrolet vehicles, reinstall the rear end finish panel.
