Chevrolet Classic Ignition Control Module Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Ignition Control Module on Chevrolet Classic?
A: Begin by turning off the ignition before starting the replacement of the Ignition Control Module. Start by removing the accelerator cable from its bracket before unfastening the accelerator cable bracket bolt and the bracket. First disconnect the icm harness connector before removing retaining screws to extract the icm from its place in the ignition coil housing. During installation adhere to these steps: position the interconnect and seal properly before reinstalling the Ignition Control Module inside the ignition coil housing. Secure the icm retaining screws by torquing them to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in). Proceed by connecting the icm harness connector followed by attaching the accelerator cable bracket through using a bracket bolt at 10 n.m (18 lb in) of torque. Fasten the accelerator cable to its final position on the bracket.
