Chevrolet Classic Vehicle Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on Chevrolet Classic?
    A:
Start replacement of the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable from its terminal and taking necessary safety precautions. After supporting the vehicle at height you should disconnect its power sensor connector. Take out the retaining stud and sensor by pulling them straight away to keep the case from getting damaged. Prepare and clean the new Vehicle Speed Sensor before attaching it plus the retaining bolt and fasten the stud to 12 nm (97 inch lbs.) torque. Connect the electrical cable back to the sensor while you take out all safety props then carefully lower the car. End the procedure by linking the negative battery lead and screwing it into place at 15 nm torque.
