Vehicle lifting is the first step before starting the Exhaust Heat Shield replacement process. The first step involves separating the ho2s wiring that links post catalytic converter to the heat shield while also removing the catalytic converter pipe to gain access to the heat shield center rivet. Support the exhaust extension pipe after detaching its forward insulators from the underbody hangers. The first step involves removing the heat shield retaining nut then drilling out and removing the heat shield retaining rivets before taking off the heat shield from the vehicle. Place the new Exhaust Heat Shield correctly then fasten it with new retaining rivets. Fasten the Exhaust Heat Shield retaining nut to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). The exhaust extension pipe can now be reinstated after the installer removes its back support. Next, he will secure the forward insulators to the underbody hangers before reconnecting the catalytic converter pipe. The post converter ho2s wiring should be reconnected while manually lowering the vehicle to its original position.
