Before installing the new parts you need to take off the valve
Rocker Arms plus the
Spark Plug. Insert and fasten the j 22794 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the Spark Plug hole before connecting an Air Hose to it. Using a plastic face hammer tap the valve stem to break loose built-up varnish between the keys. Depress the valve tension with j 38606 valve spring compressor before you take off the valve stem keys and let spring tension adjust slowly. Unwind the valve spring compressor j 38606 device from the valve assembly. Take away the valve spring cap, valve spring,
Valve Stem Oil Seal, and shim. Use clean engine oil to lubricate the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal before putting them in place at the correct position to stop oil leaks and air pollution. Put engine oil on the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal before pushing down the oil seal onto the valve stem until it reaches the valve guide. Set the valve spring on j 38606 while pressed down and fixed it into the cylinder head first. Then fit in valve spring cap and valve stem keys . Apply grease to hold both keys on the valve stem before removing the j 38606 tool and making sure all keys fit into their groove. Ease the valve spring force from the j 38606 while keeping the keys locked in position then pull out the tool. Use a plastic faced hammer to gently hit the end of the valve stem when keys require seating. Unplug the j 22794 air supply prior to taking it out from the Spark Plug hole. Check how far the valve spring sits from its base to top. Replace it with a 0.5 mm thin shim only if the height reaches 46.25 mm (1.82 inches). Never try to reduce the height below 46.25 mm through shimming. Place the Spark Plug and valve rocker arms before completion.
