In order to replace the Harmonic Balancer, the first step is to disconnect the negative
Battery Cable. Release accessory
Drive Belt tensioner and remove the Drive Belt from the engine. Next, pull out and relocate the most critical module -- the electronic brake control module, from the bracket, the power steering gear and the
Starter motor will also be removed. Remove Power Steering Cooler bolts from the front crossmember, remove the function of power steering and reposition it. Loosen the air conditioning(T/C) belt tensioner and deglue a/c Drive Belt off the engine. Next, take out the Harmonic Balancer. To get started with the installation, install the first Harmonic Balancer, then the a/c Drive Belt to the engine and then the power steering gear followed by Power Steering Cooler to the front cross member. Secure the Power Steering Cooler bolts with 11 nm (97 inch lbs). The next thing is to install the Starter motor, lower the vehicle, and install the accessory Drive Belt to the engine. Re-attach the electronic brake control module to the bracket and then reconnect the negative Battery Cable, securing the negative Battery Cable bolt at 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Finally, program the transmitters.
