  A: The first step to replace a Shift Cable entails placing the floor shift control in neutral position because the cable replacement is only successful when both the floor shift control and the transmission are set to neutral. Support the vehicle at proper height. The removal of the intermediate Exhaust Pipe allows access to the transmission control assembly for cable extraction while you need to remove the driveline tunnel closeout panel thereby making sure to avoid unplanned movement of the Shift Cable because of its rigid rod end guide tubes.
