How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for the side impact on Chevrolet Equinox?

To replace the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (SIS), first turn off the SIR system to prevent deployment activities from flares that might lead to personal injury and excessive repair. Start with the removal of the center pillar lower molding, then detach the fasteners of the SIS. Slide the module upwards and out of the key sockets in the sheet metal and remove the SIS electical connector. For clean, remove contaminants from mounting surface, connect SIS' electrical connector and lock it in connector position assurance (CPA). Insert the SIS into the access hole of the lock pillar and slide the module downwards to find the captured fastener in the key slots and tighten the fastener to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Finally, reinstall the center pillar lower molding and turn on the SIR system.
