Before starting work apply the parking brake and block the wheels. Detach the electrical connection to the Brake Fluid Level Sensor when present and take off the driver side fender support section. To protect brake fluids during brake pipe replacement install rubber plugs over each brake pipe fitting end. Seal off the master cylinder ports using rubber plugs after disconnecting brake pipes from it. At nodes jl4 vehicles you need to crimp the master cylinder hose to seal the fluid from leaking. Seal the reservoir port by plugging it in and take off the clamp and hose from the reservoir. Take out the master cylinder from the vehicle starting with its mounting nuts removal then proceed with the master cylinder reservoir. Start by placing the master cylinder reservoir into its installation position. First bleed the parking brake from the master cylinder then reinsert it to the vehicle. Put on the master cylinder mounting nuts and fasten them to a torque of 36 n.m (27 lb ft). Install hose and clamp into reservoir's port for vehicles with jl4 after detaching the reservoir plug. Then take off the crimping tool from hose. Join the brake pipes by removing rubber caps from open brake pipe ends. Tighten these fittings to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) torque. Install back the driver side fender support while connecting the electrical cable to the brake level sensor. End the hydraulic braking process after freeing the parking brake and wheel blockers.

How to overhaul the brake master cylinder on Chevrolet Express 2500?

First, to overhaul the Brake Master Cylinder, remove it from the vehicle by mounting the flange in the bench vise and make sure the rear of the primary Piston is exposed. Clean the outside of the master cylinder reservoir around the cap before removing the cap and diaphragm and then inspect the components for cuts, cracks, nicks or deformation and replace any damaged components. Then, seize off the master cylinder reservoir and utilize smooth, round--ended apparatus to compress the primary Piston and remove the Piston retainer with the primary Piston assembly from the cylinder bore. Pluggage the inlet ports of the cylinders and the rear outlet port, the low pressure, non-lubricated and filtered air should be blown in to the front output port to expel the secondary Piston in conjunction with the primary and secondary as a well as the return spring. Remove the primary Piston assembly, Piston retainer and secondary Piston seals. In assembling, clean the interior and exterior of the master cylinder, secondary Piston and return spring using a denatured alcohol or its equivalent, inspecting them for cracks, scoring, pitting, or corrosion, and re-assembling the master cylinder if it has any defects. Dry all components using non-lubricated, filtered air, and lubricate the master cylinder bore, secondary Piston, return spring, and all overhaul components using delco supreme 11, gm p/n 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667), or an equivalent dot-3 brake fluid from a clean, sealed container. Mount the new primary seal and retainer that are lubricated as well as the new secondary seal on the secondary Piston, insert the lubricated return spring and secondary Piston assembly into the cylinder bore and place the lubricated new primary Piston assembly in its place. Use a round ended, smooth tool to press down the primary Piston and install a new Piston retainer and reattach the master cylinder reservoir and cap and diaphragm after which is installed is the master cylinder to the vehicle.
