Chevrolet Express 2500 Wheel Hub Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front wheel hub, bearing, and seal on a rear-wheel drive on Chevrolet Express 2500?
A: You must first lift and support the vehicle before taking out its tire and wheel to swap its front Wheel Hub, bearing, and seal on a rear-wheel drive vehicle. Unbolt the Wheel Speed Sensor from its location to take the sensor away from the Wheel Hub and bearing. Take all bolts out from the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly then pull off its components including the Steering Knuckle shield. Scrub all damage and dirt from the Steering Knuckle's bore as well as hub in bearing parts. Apply wheel bearing grease or alternative to the Steering Knuckle bore. Fit the Wheel Hub and bearing together with splash shield onto the Steering Knuckle. Make sure you follow the fastener instructions at this step. Fortify the Wheel Hub and bearing attachment bolts at 180 n.m (133 lb ft) torque. Fix the Wheel Speed Sensor to its position on the Wheel Hub and bearing while twisting the retaining bolt to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Put back the rotor followed by the tire and wheel then lower the vehicle.
