A: Before replacing the Fan Clutch, check that the cooling fan assembly isn't damaged. Tighten the fan to clutch bolts to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.) using 4.3l, 5.0l, 5.7l and 8.1l models and tighten them to 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.) with the 6.5l diesel engine. Join the fan to the clutch again for the 4.3l, 5.0l, 5.7l or 8.1l models by using the j41240 and tightening the Fan Clutch nut to 57 nm (42 ft. Lb.). Similarly, for the 6.5l engine, connect the fan and clutch by using both j41240-5a and j41240, ensuring you torque the fan to clutch bolts evenly to 57 nm (42 ft. Lb.). Afterwards, replace the upper radiator shroud, coolant recovery reservoir or surge tank and the air cleaner and duct.
