Service of the air pump requires starting with brace removal from the fender and cowl followed by disconnecting power connections from the air pump, solenoid valve, and
Relay. First remove the hose clamp which exists on the shut-off valve hose before you detach that hose from the shut-off valve. Start the air pump assembly removal by extracting the vacuum line from the solenoid valve followed by the assembly hold-down bolt and the block. Lift off the rubber mounting posts attached to the air pump while pulling all present hoses (3,14) out of the pump. After attaching the rubber mounting posts to the air pump the installation sequence includes connecting hoses (3 and 14) to the air pump. Position first the air pump assembly into the vehicle then attach the assembly hold-down block together with bolt while tightening the bolt to 25.0 n.m (18 lb ft). Fasten the hose to the shut-off valve by using a hose clamp. Refit the electrical connector onto the air pump and solenoid valve assembly and Relay unit after which you must attach the vacuum line diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to the solenoid valve. Reinstall the brace on the fender and cowl before validating system operation.
