Lock your Steering Column through the use of the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640). Install a pin-sized between 1.0-2.0 mm when maintaining the sensor's correct positioning before removing it from the steering shaft for reuse. If a sensor cannot be centered properly following removal it needs to be discarded. Better access is achieved by removing the sensor connector followed by removing the sensor retainer from the steering shaft. When reusing the sensor pull it out straight from the bearing adapter until reaching the vicinity of the steering shaft while keeping the pin installed until final reinstallation.
