Before you can replace the Wheel Speed Sensor on a 2wd vehicle you need to lift the vehicle and secure it followed by removing the tire and wheel. Work starts with removing the brake rotor in 1500 series vehicles then extracting wss cable retaining clips from three main components - knuckle, upper
Control Arm and frame. Push the wss cable electrical connector off and take out the bolt that secures the wss. When replacing the Wheel Speed Sensor on 2500/3500 series hubs you should safely take out the sensor to avoid damaging the sensor body. To set up the wss bore avoid damage while installing the sensor o-ring and wheel bearing lubricant. Affix the wss flat into the hub/bearing assembly before installing the wss bolt and securing it to 18 nm torque settings. Reinstall the brake rotor 1500 model brakes by connecting the wss cable electrical connector to mounting clips and then attach the clips to knuckle, upper Control Arm, and frame installation position. Pack the wheel and tire back on after running the abs diagnostic without the jl4 function.
