Chevrolet HHR Oil Cooler Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine oil cooler on Chevrolet HHR?
A: Engine Oil Cooler replacement requires draining the cooling system through either ge 47716 fill or static fill-lnf system. Remove the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor then reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat Housing and pull out the radiator outlet hose from the Thermostat Housing for Oil Cooler accessibility. Start by removing the radiator outlet hose from the Oil Cooler while first relocating the clamp at the Oil Cooler. Next remove the bracket clip holding the hose. First reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp located at the Oil Cooler and after that remove the surge tank outlet hose from the Oil Cooler. First fasten out the Oil Cooler bolt before fully removing it. Follow these steps during installation to position the Oil Cooler onto the engine block then tighten the Oil Cooler bolts at 22 n.m (16 lb ft). Finally install the surge tank outlet hose to the Oil Cooler while also positioning its clamp at the Oil Cooler location. Set up the surge tank outlet hose between the Oil Cooler and Thermostat Housing while placing radiator outlet hose clamps between the respective components. Secure the radiator outlet hose clip back to its bracket position while also securing the intake cmp sensor. Complete the cooling system filling procedure using ge 47716 fill approach with static fill-lnf as an alternative.
