How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for Side Impact on Chevrolet Impala?

To change the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor, disable the SIR System first. Take out the center pillar lower trim, then remove connector position assurance (CPA) from the inflatable restraint side impact sensor yellow 2-way harness connector and disconnect the wiring harness connector. Remove the 2 fasteners attaching the inflatable restraint side impact sensor and take it out of the center pillar . For installation, place the inflatable restraint and secure the 2 fasteners of yellow 2-way harness connector. Reattach the yellow 2-way harness connector and attach the CPA onto it while tightening the fixings without the need for tools other than hand tools to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Finally, install the center pillar lower trim and activate the SIR system.
