How to replace brake calipers on Chevrolet Lumina?

Start brake caliper replacement by taking one-third of brake fluid from the reservoir and securely lifting the vehicle. Locate the wheel placement on the hub before taking off both tires and wheel. Apply two bolts to hold the rotor in its position on the hub while using a large c-clamp to push the Brake Caliper Piston against the brake pads until it moves to the caliper bore. Leaving calipers to hang from flexible hoses may result in breakage. Plug the housing ports and pipe to protect brake fluid using proper tools when you remove the brake hose bolt from the inlet fitting. Take away the caliper bolts first and slide the caliper housing free from the rotor and mounting bracket. Look for cuts or tears on bolt boots and swap them with new components when damaged. Test the piston boot for the same effects before proceeding. Replace all corroded caliper bolts with new ones before installation. Place the caliper housing over the rotor and caliper bracket with bushings properly seated inside. Apply silicone grease to the caliper bolts at their contact points only while placing grease in the two lubricant ports inside the caliper bracket. Slide the bolt boot cover onto the caliper bolt shoulder while pushing it into the smooth surface of the pin bolt. Use a screwdriver to secure the bolt and then tighten both pieces to 85 nm (63 ft. Lb). Put back the copper gaskets and fit the brake hose bolt while tightening it to 54 nm (40 ft. Lbs.). Put the rotor out of place by taking off its wheel nuts. Put tires and wheels on the hub while lowering the vehicle. Put fresh brake fluid into the master cylinder tank until it reaches the correct amount. If you removed the inlet fitting you need to bleed the caliper and apply 238 nm (175 lb) torque to the Brake Pedal after bleeding. Preview all hydraulic brake system parts for leaks before ending the process.
