How to Service and Repair the Engine Oil Dipstick Tube on Chevrolet Lumina?

The service process for engine oil dip stick and dip stick tube begins with number five cylinder Spark Plug wire removal followed by removal of the oil level indicator. The service begins by unscrewing the bracket nut from the oil level indicator tube bracket before taking out the tube. Before installation you must clean the oil level indicator tube while applying gm sealant p/n 12345493 or equivalent to its bead at 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) below the position. The engine block admission of the oil level indicator tube must be completed while implementing the nut to the oil level indicator tube bracket before securing it with a 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque. You should return the oil level indicator to its position while reconnecting the Spark Plug wire to cylinder number five.
