How to replace the Lash Adjusters on Chevrolet Lumina?

Before beginning Lash Adjuster replacement start by removing the upper Intake Manifold followed by removal of the lower Intake Manifold. First remove the left (front) valve Rocker Arm cover before moving on to the right (rear) valve Rocker Arm cover. The valve rocker arms and pushrods need to be removed first followed by removing the lifter guide bolts and the valve Lash Adjuster guide(s). Next you can take out the lash adjusters. Thoroughly degrease all gasket surfaces before cleaning the valve train components to check the lash adjusters and cam lobe conditions. Apply prelube (GM P/N 1052365 or equivalent) to the lash adjusters before they go into their regular locations. Secure the Lash Adjuster guide and its bolts with 10 nm torque (89 inch lbs.). After mounting the right and left valve Rocker Arm covers the technicians should install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. After finishing installation place the upper Intake Manifold along with the lower Intake Manifold back into position.
