How to replace the power steering pump on Chevrolet Lumina?

The replacement of the Power Steering Pump begins with positioning a drain pan underneath the vehicle and taking off the coolant recovery reservoir. The next step is to remove the accessory Drive Belt from the Power Steering Pump followed by disconnecting the wiring harness that is located near the pump. The power steering pressure line and return hose need to be detached before using a set of bolts to remove the Power Steering Pump assembly. First detach the Power Steering Pump pulley followed by removing the Power Steering Reservoir from the pump. The Power Steering Reservoir needs to be fastened to the pump first before installing the pump pulley. Affix the pump assembly to the engine block while fastening its mounting bolts at 34 nm torque using a torque wrench. First install the accessory Drive Belt together with the wiring harness and after that attach the power steering pressure line and return hose. Finally, replace the coolant recovery reservoir then proceed to fill the power steering system before bleeding it. The vehicle inspection must end by verifying system leaks and getting rid of the underneath drain pan.
