    Q:
How to replace the power steering pump on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Power Steering Pump replacement begins with placing the drain pan underneath the vehicle followed by recovery reservoir removal and setting it aside. Remove the accessory Drive Belt from the Power Steering Pump pulley followed by disconnecting the wiring harness that is nearby the pump. Owners should break away the power steering pressure line through power steering pressure hose replacement and the power steering return hose through power steering return hose replacement. Use a wrench to extract the mounting bolts from the Power Steering Pump before pulling out the pump the whole assembly. The service requires removal of Power Steering Pump pulley (Power Steering Pulley Replacement) followed by the Power Steering Reservoir (Power Steering Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle (CB Series)). First install the Power Steering Reservoir to the pump then add the pump pulley for installation (Power Steering Pulley Replacement). Screw the Power Steering Pump to the engine before tightening all mounting bolts to 34 nm (25 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the wiring harness and connect both power steering pressure line and return hose into place. Reinstall the coolant recovery reservoir after placing back the accessory Drive Belt. Add fluid to the power steering system and remove the air through bleeding before checking for any fluid leaks while removing the pan located beneath the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the power steering pump on Chevrolet Lumina? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of the Power Steering Pump begins with positioning a drain pan underneath the vehicle and taking off the coolant recovery reservoir. The next step is to remove the accessory Drive Belt from the Power Steering Pump followed by disconnecting the wiring harness that is located near the pump. The power steering pressure line and return hose need to be detached before using a set of bolts to remove the Power Steering Pump assembly. First detach the Power Steering Pump pulley followed by removing the Power Steering Reservoir from the pump. The Power Steering Reservoir needs to be fastened to the pump first before installing the pump pulley. Affix the pump assembly to the engine block while fastening its mounting bolts at 34 nm torque using a torque wrench. First install the accessory Drive Belt together with the wiring harness and after that attach the power steering pressure line and return hose. Finally, replace the coolant recovery reservoir then proceed to fill the power steering system before bleeding it. The vehicle inspection must end by verifying system leaks and getting rid of the underneath drain pan.
