How to replace the alternator bracket on Chevrolet Malibu?

Begin generator bracket replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then rotating the Drive Belt tensioner counterclockwise to remove the accessory Drive Belt. The generator must be removed first along with the Drive Belt tensioner bolt followed by the Drive Belt tensioner. First remove the Drive Belt idler pulley bolt and idler pulley before continuing with the generator bracket bolt extraction and final removal of the generator bracket. Installation begins with the generator bracket followed by generator bracket bolt installation according to fastener notice in service precautions while torquing bolts in sequence to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Begin by installing the Drive Belt tensioner followed by its bolt then tighten it to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Proceed with driving belt idler pulley and bolt installation with a 50 n.m (37 lb ft) torque setting. To complete the operation install the generator then use counterclockwise motion on the Drive Belt tensioner to add the accessory Drive Belt before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
