The first step for Radiator fan and shroud (L61) replacement involves taking out the left and right headlamps. You can unclip the upper transmission oil cooler pipe from the fan shroud yet keep it attached to both transmission and Radiator. Connect a rope through all upper tabs of the condenser before securing it to the upper tie bar for support. The procedure now requires bolt removal from the upper Radiator support brackets and subsequent removal of these brackets. After lifting the vehicle, use a pry tool to lift fan shroud tabs positioned at the Radiator clips and remove both lower deflector retainers with the deflector. Start by taking off the right front fender liner then continue removing the right and left Radiator air deflector retainers together with their deflectors. Disband the lower Radiator support bracket bolts and the lower Radiator support brackets before disconnecting fan wire harness connectors and taking off the fan shroud assembly. The installation process requires you to position the fan shroud assembly then bend the Radiator air side seals before inserting them into the channel of the intake air splash shields to direct airflow efficiently. Place the lower Radiator support brackets before internationally tightening their mounting bolts to reach 60 n.m (44 lb ft) torque values. Install the right front fender liner and lower Radiator air deflector with their retainers after connecting the fan wire harness connectors and placing on the left and right Radiator air deflectors and their retainers. Lower the vehicle next to secure the fan shroud tabs into Radiator clips until you can take off the rope from connectors and the upper tie bar. Fasten the upper Radiator support brackets by tightening the bolts to 10 n.m (7 lb ft) while keeping the upper bracket plain to reduce twisting. The last step involves connecting the upper transmission oil cooler pipe to the shroud before reinstalling both right and left headlamps.
