Service of the Air Injection Control Valve begins with disconnecting the vacuum hose from the combination valve. You should activate the AIR pump exhaust hose pinch clamp before you take out the 2 bolts securing the AIR pipe to the AIR manifold. First remove the bolt which fastens the combination valve to the map sensor bracket then extract the AIR combination valve with its accompanying AIR pipe as one unit. Install the AIR combination valve and AIR pipe assembly to the MAP sensor bracket through the mounting bolt while tightening it to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Secure the two AIR pipe bolts onto the AIR manifold by tightening them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). The installation sequence includes connecting the AIR pump exhaust pipe to the AIR combination valve then repositioning the AIR pump exhaust hose pinch clamp before remaking the vacuum hose connection with the valve.
