Starting by turning off the ignition you must disconnect the Idle Control Valve before you replace it. The removal of two retention screws enables you to disconnect the Idle Control Valve with its o-ring. Check that the cone (pintle) extension exceeds 28 mm (1 - 1/8 in) before installation by compressing it manually if needed. Place the Idle Control Valve inside the Intake Manifold after installing its new o-ring while using 2 screws tightened to 3.0 n.m (27 lb in). The electrical connector requires connection to the Idle Control Valve after which you should reset the pcm through a 10-second ignition on phase followed by a 5-second ignition off period. Start the engine while letting it achieve regular operating temperature.
