A replacement unit must display a set odometer value of zero when matched mileage setting is unachievable while a label should also be mounted on the driver's door frame showing the former reading alongside the replacement date. Initiate the process by taking out the instrument cluster retainer. It is essential to keep the needle in the speedometer because there exists no flat spot or detent on its shaft to confirm proper alignment. Pull out the speedometer by removing 5 screws which keep the speedometer tightly attached to the instrument cluster case. To install the speedometer replace it into the instrument cluster case by using the 5 screws to secure it before mounting the instrument cluster retainer.
